Women's Soccer Selected Seventh in Landmark Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata women's soccer team was selected seventh in this season's Landmark Conference preseason poll.

Scranton was selected first and received seven first place votes while Susquehanna was second with one first place vote. Catholic slots in third while Elizabethtown is fourth. 

This season the Eagles will be returning six starters, 12 total returners. Senior defender, Kristin Racis (Womelsdorf, Pa. / Conrad Weiser) was a Landmark All-Conference second teamer last season, also she started in 17 of the 18 games. Senior forward Anna Kauffman (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) was the second leading scorer totaling five goals last season, while Wynter Adams (Houtzdale, Pa. / Moshannon Valley) was third, scoring three goals.  Amanda Kopacz (Green Brook, N.J. / Mount Saint Mary Academy) and Elizabeth Bentz (Wolf, Pa. / Northeastern) round out the senior class. Kopacz scored two game winning goals last season while Bentz started in 16 games and appeared in 18. 

In the junior class, Brooke Rotheram (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) scored three goals and tallied two assists for the Eagles last season while fellow junior Alexis Ulrich (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area HS), played in 16 games and started in eight. Rounding out the juniors is Bridget Shea (Garden City, N.Y. / Garden City), who appeared in two games last season. 

The returning sophomores all saw the field last season. Paige Bulgarelli (York, Pa. / York Suburban) appeared in 11 games, Emma Moreland (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest) played in 18 games with 16 starts, and Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) appeared in 17 games. 

The Eagles kick off their season Friday, August 31st at 5:00 pm as they take on Cairn at home.
