Two Second Half Goals Push Eagles Past Wildcats

HUNTGINDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's soccer team scored twice in the final eight minutes to defeat Penn College, 2-0, on a chilly evening at Gibbel Stadium.

Aubrie Christensen (Suwanee, Ga./Manheim Township) tallied a goal and an assist. Amanda Kopacz (Green Brook, N.J./Mount Saint Mary Academy) scored the other goal while Samantha Bromley (Winder, Pa./Forest Hills) recorded one assist.

The Eagles got off 13 shots and put six of them on frame during the first half, but the Penn College keeper denied them all.

The second half saw more of the same as the Penn College keeper turned away shot after shot. In the 82nd minute, Juniata won a corner. Christensen sent the ball in from the left side, and Kopacz slotted it away to break the deadlock. Seven minutes later, a deflected Bromley pass fell to Christensen who fired it past the keeper to ice the game.

Juniata moves to 10-7 and will face Elizabethtown on senior day at 1:00.
