Susquehanna Holds Juniata Scoreless

Susquehanna Holds Juniata Scoreless

THE STORY: Juniata moves to 4-6-3 on the year, 0-4 in conference play, after falling to Susquehanna 2-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Juniata was able to limit Susquehanna's powerful offense to only four shot opportunities, three of which were off-target. Then, in the 24th minute, the River Hawks got through to the net and on the board. Susquehanna remained in control and scored once more before the half was over.

While Juniata did not get any shots off in the second half, they played great defense to hold the River Hawks scoreless.

INSIDE THE BOX: The River Hawks limited the Eagles to two shots throughout the game, both in the first half. Jessica Zavadak (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) and Rebecca Hingley (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) took the shots for the Eagles.

BETWEEN THE POSTS: Senior Erin Mueller (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) played 90 minutes in goal for Juniata, marking five saves on seven shots on goal. She saved four shots on goal in the second half to keep the River Hawks at two.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The Eagles will travel to Scranton on Saturday, Oct. 15 to play a 1 p.m. game. They return home the following Saturday, Oct. 22, for their senior day game against Moravian.
