Women's Soccer Shutout by Catholic 6-0

THE STORY: Conference-rival Catholic beat the Eagles 6-0 on Saturday, Oct. 1, putting the Eagles at 0-2 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cardinals scored three goals in each half against the Eagles. Catholic maintained control of the game at the beginning, taking six shots in the first half and seven corner kicks. They entered halftime with a 3-0 lead. After halftime, the Cardinals took two shots before scoring two more goals in the 50th and the 55th minute.

INSIDE THE BOX: Wynter Adams (Houtzdale, Pa./Moshannon Valley), Olivia Claycomb (Saxton, Pa./Tussey Mountain) and Brooke Rotheram (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) recorded all of the shots for Juniata, as they were outshot 19-3 throughout the contest. They were limited to one shot in the first and two in the second.

BETWEEN THE POSTS: Senior goalkeeper Erin Mueller (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) worked hard for the Eagles, tallying a career-high ten saves on the 16 shots on goal.

POST-GAME REMARKS: "We need to regroup...and dedicate ourselves to playing better against Greensburg on Tuesday," said head coach Scott McKenzie. 

WHAT'S NEXT?: Juniata will return home to face Pitt.-Greensburg on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
