HUNTINGDON, PA.—Juniata's women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in their 2016 home opener and the first game at Gibbel Stadium.

In the seventh minute, the Panthers snuck the only goal of the game past senior goalkeeper Erin Mueller (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) immediately off of a corner kick.

Soon after the goal, Juniata began their fight against both the Panthers and the rain.

However, the rain did not stop the Eagles on either sides of the ball. The majority of the action occurred on the Eagles' offensive territory, as they outshot the Panthers 23-3. Of their shots, 13 of them came on goal. Sophomore Caroline Braas led the team with nine shots and four on goal.

Despite their offensive efforts, Pitt. -Bradford's goalkeeper kept the Eagles scoreless. She recorded 13 saves of the 13 shots on goal.

Up next, head coach Scott McKenzie and his Eagles head to King's on Saturday, Sept. 10 for a 5:00 p.m. game.
