Leonard Receives Defensive Athlete of the Week Honors

TOWSON, MD – Sophomore goalkeeper Kerry Leonard (Cockeysville, MD / Maryvale Prep.) was named the Landmark Conference's Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for her play against Mt. Aloysius and Westminster College.

Leonard recorded over 200 minutes of shutout play in goal and made 12 saves.

The Eagles defeated the Mounties Sept. 17 2-0 and tied the Titans Sept. 19 0-0, improving to 3-2-1 on the season.

Leonard boasts a 0.62 goals allowed against average this season. In her career at Juniata, she has 101 saves and seven shutouts. She now ranks seventh among all-time goalkeepers at Juniata for number of saves.

Across the conference, Leonard ranks third in number of saves (19), is second in save percentage (.864), second in goals against (3) and second in goals against average (0.62).

Last season, she became the first goalkeeper in Juniata history to be named to the Landmark Conference Second Team. Leonard also was awarded two Landmark Defensive Athlete of the Week awards last season.
