Juniata Falls in Conference Play to Moravian

BETHLEHEM, PA – After a scoreless first period, the Juniata women's soccer team (5-6-1, 1-2) fell to the Moravian Greyhounds 0-2 Saturday afternoon. 

The Greyhounds first goal came after sophomore goalkeeper Kerry Leonard (Cockeysville, MD/ Maryvale Prep) had just made a save. The ball came back into play and Moravian took the upper hand in the 49th minute mark. Leonard finished the game with four saves.

Moravian got an insurance goal in the 75th minute when they scored on a header off a corner kick.

Juniata's offense was held to just five shots, with only one on goal. The Eagles average 15.4 shots per game on the season. 

The lone shot on goal for the Eagles came from sophomore Maggie Pozenel (Croton-on-Hudson, NY / Croton-Harmon). Pozenel totaled two shots against Moravian. Devin Kos (Bellefonte, PA / Bellefonte Area), Kristen Behrens (Jonestown, PA / Lebanon Catholic) and Michaela Lacek (New Tripoli, PA / Northwestern) recorded the remaining shots for Juniata. 

The Greyhounds held a 15-5 advantage in total shots and an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. 

Juniata continues conference play Wed. Oct. 13 at Susquehanna. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
