Eagles Fall to Lycoming 2-1 at Winton Hill Field

Huntingdon, PA. Juniata College women's soccer lost a close 2-1 match at home earlier today.The loss dropped the Eagles to 2-5-1 on the season.

Nikki Kaye scored both goals for the Warriors, notching her first with just several minutes left in the first half. She netted a rebounded save for her second score of the day to put Lycoming up 2-0 in the 70th minute.

Freshman Jessica Zavadak (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest) scored her second goal of the season to cut the deficit in half with ten minutes left in regulation. She had a chance to tie the game three minutes later, but missed high.

Despite allowing two goals, keeper Kerry Leonard (Cockeysville, Md. / Maryvale Prep.) had a strong game in net for Juniata. The freshman made several outstanding saves, totaling seven in all.

 

Juniata travels to Latrobe, Pa on Wednesday to play St. Vincent at 4 p.m.The Eagles will return home Saturday to host the Drew Rangers in a 3:30 pm contest.
