Women’s Soccer Battles to Scoreless Tie with King’s College

WILKES-BARRE, PA- For the second straight game, the Juniata women's soccer team went into overtime. On this occasion, there would be a deadlock as the Eagles and King's College fought to a 0-0 tie.

 

The Eagles led the Monarchs in overall shots, 8-5. Juniata got four shots on goal to Kings' two. The Monarchs led in corner kicks, 5-2.

 

Maggie Pozenel (Croton-on-Hudson, NY/Croton-Harmon) had three shots for the Eagles and registered two on goal. Amy Barge and Alexandra Garrett had two shots each for the Monarchs.

 

The Lady Monarchs' best chance came at the 36-minute mark. Raquel Molina's shot caromed off the outstretched hand of Eagle keeper Kerry Leonard (Cockeysville, MD/Maryvale Prep) and bounced off the cross bar.

 

Leonard ended the game with two saves. Jessica Natale had four stops for King's.

 

Juniata returns to action next Saturday when it host Lycoming at Winton Hill Field. Game time will be at 3:30 p.m.
