HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Freshman Devin Kos (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte Area) has been named Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her performance against Goucher College last weekend, the league announced Monday. Juniata improved to 1-1 in Landmark play after defeating the Gopher 2-1 on Saturday.

"To have a first year player crack the starting lineup when you have so many good defending players on the team is a wonderful accomplishment," said head coach Scott McKenzie. "Devin wouldn't be as good as she is if she wasn't being pushed by all of our defensive players. Devin is getting the accolades this week, and it comes through the hard work of Lillian Dudek, and Katie Szczur, and Molly Sellars, and Cara Spiess, and Valerie Hersh, and Fleur Wallis, and Shayna King, all pushing each other. You've gotta reward an individual, but it's clearly a group success."

Kos anchored the Juniata defense that held the Gophers to just two shots through the full 90-minutes and did not allow Goucher a single corner kick.
