Juniata Falls 3-1 at McDaniel

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's soccer team fell 3-1 on the road at McDaniel College Monday afternoon in their last non-conference match of the year.  The Eagles (6-4-1) outshot McDaniel (10-9) in the second half, but could not overcome the Green Terror's early lead.

With McDaniel up 2-0, sophomore Lauren Liacouras (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) scored the Eagles lone goal.  It was her third of the year, fourth of her career.  She took two shots, all on goal, before her third snuck past McDaniel keeper Jan Woolley.

The goal was the first Wolley had given up in over 190 minutes.

Freshman goalkeeper Kristin Twardowski (Emmaus, Pa./Southern Lehigh) spent the full 90 minutes in goal for Juniata and picked up five saves.

The Eagles return home for the bulk of their conference schedule facing Moravian first this Saturday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m.  The match is a part of a double-header with the men's soccer team.  Juniata fell 4-1 the last time the two teams met, but defeated the Greyhounds 4-1 in 2010.
