Juniata and King’s come-up empty throughout double overtime

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Juniata College women's soccer fought throughout 110 minutes of soccer against King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., but neither team was able to find the back of the net in a 0-0 double overtime matchup.

Across the board, the Monarchs and Eagles were evenly matched. Juniata (5-0-1) took eight shots, as did King's (1-3-1), and each team only recorded one corner kick opportunity. King's had two offside calls, and so did the Eagles. Even down to yellow cards, each team registered one, and neither team took a single shot in the entire 10 minute second overtime period.

Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic) led Juniata in shots with four, and Kristin Twardowski (Emmaus, Pa./Southern Lehigh) stopped six Monarchs shots on goal.

Juniata faces Penn State Altoona on Tuesday, September 18, at 4:00 p.m. on Winton Hill Field.
