Eagles Saunter Past Saints

Arlington, Va.- On Wednesday afternoon, the Juniata women's lacrosse team returned to winning ways with a 16-12 road win at Marymount University. 

Skyler Stevens had three goals, three assists, three ground balls, and a caused turnover. Peyton Goodrich tallied three goals, two assists, a ground ball, two draw controls, and a caused turnover. Kelliann Drummond totaled two goals and two assists, while Grace Gibbs had three goals, five ground balls, three draw controls, and four caused turnovers. Kyndall Yeager tacked on three goals, while Shannon Para and Elayna Stubbe had one goal apiece. Tess Ledeboer was all over the draw controls with a career-high eight along with a caused turnover. Mikayla Bodley got the win in goal, making four saves, while Caoilinn Heatley entered and made two saves in the fourth. 

Goodrich scored off a free position shot a little over four minutes in, and later, Stevens found Yeager to double the Juniata lead. The Saints rebounded in the final two minutes and thirty seconds as they tied the game at 2-2 by the end of one. 

Stevens put Juniata back ahead, but the Saints answered a minute later. The Eagles rattled off four goals in three minutes as Gibbs found the back of the net twice while Goodrich and Yeager added one each. The final four minutes saw the teams trade goals as the Saints scored a woman up, Stevens found Yeager, and Stubbs scored on a free position shot to make it 9-4. The Saints answered 10 seconds later, but Stevens had the final say with an unassisted goal with 11 seconds showing on the scoreboard. 

The Saints scored the first two goals of the third, but Juniata closed the quarter on a 5-0 run that saw them lead 15-7 heading into the final quarter. 

Goodrich pushed the Eagle lead to nine with just under 13 to play, but the Saints scored the final goals of the game to complete the final margin, 16-12. 

Juniata will host Wilkes on Friday at 4:00.
