CLEARWATER, Fla.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team suffered their first defeat of the year, 16-3, at the hands of Rochester Institute of Technology, Wednesday afternoon at the Countryside Sports Complex.
The Tigers scored three goals in the opening three minutes and did not relent.
They scored eight more goals as they led 11-0 with a little under six minutes to go in the first half.
Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) scored unassisted to get JC on the board as they trailed by ten at the half.
The Tigers scored the first five goals over the opening 17 minutes of the second half as they maintained their hold on the game.
Isabella Michener (Randolph, N.J. / Randolph H.S.) scored off an assist from Charlotte Mallow (Beallsville, Md. / Poolesville) and Bertrando struck again inside of four minutes to complete the scoreline.
Juniata will take on Rhodes, Friday, at 10:00 AM.
