Eagles Soar Past Falcons

Natalie Gibson was all over the place against Cedar Crest as she amassed five goals, an assist, seven ground balls, two draw controls and eight caused turnovers.

HUNTINGDON, Pa.-The Juniata women's lacrosse team bounced back with a 19-2 win over Cedar Crest, Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium. 

Talia Bertrando (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) opened the scoring with a free position goal just over a minute in. Natalie Gibson (Annapolis, Md. / Broadneck) scored two straight, with Bertrando finding her cutting towards goal to set up her second. Arielle Danchenko (Palm City, Fla. / South Fork) had her first of five assists to set up Paige Riker (Sussex, N.J. / Vernon Township)'s first goal. Gibson struck again from an FPS shot as the Eagles led five nothing in the first eight minutes.

Danchenko scored from a free position shot, Mina Wilt (Wells Tannery, Pa. / Forbes Road) scored off a feed from Riker and Bertrando tallied her second with 15 minutes to go in the half. Gibson found Andrea Insalaco (Woodlyn, Pa. / Ridley) before scoring herself on an FPS shot. Insalaco found Bertrando for her third of the game before Bertrando turned provider, setting up Wilt's second as the Eagles went into the locker room up 12-0. 

Juniata outscored the Falcons 7-2 in the second half to cement the victory.
