Eagles Dominate Vixens in Virginia

SWEET BRIAR, Va.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team blew past Sweet Briar 17-2 Sunday afternoon down in Virginia. 

Lauren Rowe (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area HS) tallied six goals and a draw control while Natalie Gibson (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) scored five goals and won three draw controls. Mina Wilt (Wells Tannery, Pa./Forbes Road) scored twice, dished out one assist, scooped up three ground balls and won four draw controls. Zoe Fishter (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and Allison Kincaid (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) each scored once while Kylie Edwards (Danville, Pa./Danville) tallied a goal and an assist. Hillary Grove (York, Pa./Central York) scored a goal and caused two turnovers.

Gibson scored the opening goal of the game. The Vixens scored a minute and a half later on a free position attempt. Juniata completely dominated the game from that point on, scoring five goals in five minutes as they opening up a 6-1 lead. Juniata added six more goals over the final 20 minutes of the half as they went into halftime with a 12-1 lead.

The second half saw Juniata add five more goals while the Vixens tallied one more.

JC held a decisive 36-7 edge in shots and a 13-6 six edge in ground balls.

The Eagles continue their tour of Virginia as they will play at Randolph in Lynchburg, Va. Tomorrow at 7:00 pm.
