Robb Ritchey to Lead Both Golf Programs as Head Coach

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata College Athletics Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Robert S. Ritchey as the first full-time head golf coach for both the men's and the women's teams.

"We are really excited to welcome Robb to the Juniata community in this role as men's and women's golf coach," said President Jim Troha. "Robb has deep roots in the Huntingdon area, including being an accomplished golfer in the county, and has built important relationships that will help him recruit strong student-athletes to our program. Our golf program is in really good hands with Robb at the helm."

An outstanding golfer, Ritchey has been a Huntingdon County Open Champion and a Club Champion at the Huntingdon Country Club. He has also been the club champion and a course record holder at the Standing Stone Golf Course.

"I'd like to thank Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students Matthew Damschroder, Associate Athletic Director Scott McKenzie, and the other members of the search committee for the opportunity to lead the women's and men's golf program at Juniata College," said Ritchey. " I look forward to building a highly competitive women's and men's golf program that offers an exceptional student-athlete experience and becoming a part of the Juniata College community."

Ritchey comes to Juniata after a 30-year career in banking as a Commercial Loan Officer at Mid Penn Bank, where he performed all commercial lending functions, including business development, credit, and financial analysis, loan presentations, and loan closings, and collections, relationship management, and outside business calls.

A dedicated member of the Huntingdon community, Ritchey has had various positions on the Penn Highlands Hospital Board of Directors, including Finance Chair and Board Vice-Chair. He has been the Huntingdon Borough Treasurer, served on the Juniata River Blueprint Communities Committee, and has been a volunteer assistant basketball coach with the Huntingdon Area School District for 16 years.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1990 before obtaining his Master of Arts degree in Workforce Education and Lifelong Learning at The Ohio State University in 1998. Robb lives in Huntingdon with his wife Kara and has two adult children.
