Claudia McDowell

Former Juniata women's basketball standout Claudia McDowell returns to her alma mater for her fifth season as an assistant coach, helping coach the program she helped lead to an NCAA tournament appearance in 2008 and an ECAC South championship in 2009.

The 2009 Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week finished her playing career with 968 career points over three seasons on College Hill, after transferring to Juniata from Hofstra University. A two-time first-team all-conference selection, she ranked third among Juniata career assist leaders with 323, and is fourth in career steals with 231. McDowell also tallied 94 three-pointers over her three seasons at Juniata, good enough to ranked seventh among Juniata's all-time leaders.

A 2009 graduate of Juniata with a bachelor's degree in business administration and education, she was the 2009 recipient of Juniata's William R. Smaltz Award, presented annually to the senior student-athlete who has exemplified hard work and perseverance in his or her endeavors.
