HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's basketball team hosted the Penn State Harrisburg Lions on Tuesday night as the Eagles dominated throughout the entirety of the game finishing off the Lions 67-52.
The Eagles stepped onto the floor neck and neck with the Lions until they busted the score open halfway through the first quarter to finish the first quarter 15-9. Momentum was carried over into the second quarter with a Grace Long (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) layup to push the Eagles 17-9 following a drained 3 pointer from Haily Sherman (Marysville, Pa. / Susquenita High School) to seal the score of 20-14, Eagles.

Juniata didn't stop there by putting up 14 more points including Kynnedy Miller's (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area HS) back-to-back three-point shots. Sherman with 13 points and Miller with seven led the Eagles at the half putting 34-21 on the board in favor of the Eagles.
Cassie Mock (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central Martinsburg) decided to make a second-half statement with a clean three-point shot to begin the third quarter.

The defense came up big as Long led the Eagles with 15 rebounds with Sherman coming up quickly behind her with 13 including a block to prevent a Harrisburg layup attempt.

Long was a force on both sides of the ball throwing up nine points including a third-quarter buzzer-beater. The Eagles sent the Lions home after a 67-52 lead. Sherman once again led the Eagles with 19 points with Mock on her heels with 16 who also went 4-for-6 in three-point attempts.
The Eagles will return to the court on Wednesday, December 1st, as they travel to Elmire for a 6:00 pm tip-off.
