Gracie Stauffer tallied her third straight double-double of the year as she totaled 12 points and 10 rebounds at St. Vincent, Tuesday evening.

LATROBE, Pa.- The Juniata women's basketball team couldn't keep up with high scoring Saint Vincent as they lost, 93-56, Tuesday evening at the Carey Center.

Larissa Leonard (Three Springs, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon) converted two foul shots a minute and a half into the contest to get the Eagles on the board. Gracie Stauffer (Loysville, Pa. / West Perry) scored on back to back possessions, one on a putback layup and the other on an assist by Megan Haines (Bloomsburg, Pa. / Bloomsburg),  which made it 7-6 Bearcats early.

The hosts pushed their lead to seven before a pair of Cassidy Arnold (York, Pa. / Eastern York HS) foul shots and a bucket inside by Averie Hess (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore) made it 14-10 with a little under four minutes to go. Kymiah Carpenter (Baltimore, Md. / Gerstell Academy) laid it in off the glass to pull JC within two. The Bearcats rattled off 10 straight points to push their lead to double digits until Arnold found Madison Colyer (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) inside for a layup to cut the deficit to 10, 24-14. St. Vincent scored six more points before the quarter ended as the Eagles trailed by 16 at the end of one.

The Bearcats opened the second on a 13-2 run over the first eight minutes of the second quarter as they led 43-16. The Eagles found some rhythm in the final minutes as they went into the locker room on a 9-6 surge with Hess knocking down a jumper in the final seven seconds as Juniata trailed, 47-25 at halftime.

The Eagles managed to win the third quarter, 21-20, but the Bearcats dominated the fourth, 26-10 as Saint Vincent coasted to victory, 93-56.

Juniata returns to action, Monday, at home against Penn State Schuylkill.
