Women's Basketball Selected Sixth in Landmark Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata women's basketball team was tabbed sixth in this season's Landmark Conference preseason poll.

Juniata received 19 points, placing them behind Drew (24), Catholic (41), Moravian (45), Elizabethtown (57), and Scranton (70). The Eagles sit ahead of Susquehanna and Goucher. 

The Eagles return first team all-conference selection from last season, Gracie Stauffer (Loysville, Pa. / West Perry). The junior center, started in all 25 games for the Eagles, totaling 792 minutes. Stauffer averaged 14.7 points per game and held a 57.6 field goal percentage. Stauffer also totaled 291 rebounds and 65 blocks last season. The Eagles also return two other juniors, Madison Colyer (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) and Larissa Leonard (Three Springs, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon)

Juniata also returns a large group of underclassmen. Kymiah Carpenter (Baltimore, Md. / Gerstell Academy), Megan Haines Bloomsburg, Pa. / Bloomsburg), Averie Hess (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore), Grace Long (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin), Jamie Mahigel (Lewistown, Pa. / Mifflin County), Cassie Mock (Martinsburg, Pa. / Central Martinsburg), and Taylor Vrabel (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg) all return as sophomores while the Eagles bring in two freshmen, Cassidy Arnold (York, Pa. / Eastern York HS) and Natalie Slusser (Abbottstown, Pa. / New Oxford HS)

The Eagles start off their season November 15th as they compete in the McDaniel College Tip-Off Tournament.
