HUNTINGDON, Pa.- This summer, the USA DIII Women's Basketball Brazil Tour of 2018 will include Juniata women's basketball standout Morgan Instone (Johnstown, Pa./Bishop McCourt).
The teams are made up of invited NCAA Division III basketball players from throughout the United States. Team members have been recognized at the national, regional and conference levels.
"It is a great opportunity for Morgan to get experience playing with a different group of women and elite competition," said head coach Danny Young-Uhrich. "A mix of playing basketball and she gets to experience a different place is a great opportunity for her and I am glad she is taking it."

The USA D-3 Men's & Women's Basketball Teams will begin their Brazil Tour 2018 in Orlando, Florida on July 16th. The tour runs from July 16-25. After team orientation in Orlando the team departs for Sao Paulo, Brazil. The teams will practice in the city of Jundiai, Sao Paulo on Tuesday, July 17th. The USA D-3 Basketball Teams will play a doubleheader (Men & Women) on Wednesday, July 18 in the city of Jundiai, which is in the state of Sao Paulo. The Jundiai men & women are both U22 teams. On Thursday, July 19th the USA D-3 Teams will travel to the city of Sao Paulo and play vs. teams from the Santa Andre Clube. The Santa Andre Women's team is a top PRO team that plays in the 1stDivision Professional League. The Santa Andre Men's Team will be from their junior team / U22.
The USA D-3 Teams fly to Rio de Janeiro on Friday, June 20th. The teams will play on Sunday, July 22nd vs. Queimados. The USA D-3 teams will play their final games on Monday, July 23rd at Fluminese Clube in Rio. The team will depart Brazil on Wednesday morning of July 25th and return to the USA at 6:00 p.m. that evening.
While in Brazil the teams will experience educational, cultural and social aspects of Brazilian life through city, school and sports club visits. While in Rio the team will be staying on the famous Copacabana Beach and touring the Christ the Redeemer Statue and Sugar Loaf Mountain, two of the most recognizable landmarks in the world.
