Atkinson Honored with Second Team Recognition

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference awarded junior guard Dani Atkinson with Second Team recognition for her standout 2016-17 season.

Averaging a team-high 14.6 points per game, Atkinson (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) scored in double-digits in all but four games. The junior put up her season-high 24 points in Juniata's thrilling victory over St. Vincent on December 4.

She tallied 366 points on the season with 40 three-pointers, landing eighth in the Juniata record books for three-pointers in a season.

Her impact was not limited to her offensive game, as she recorded 109 rebounds on the season and 58 steals. Against Delaware Valley on Nov. 22, she put up 16 points and pulled down ten rebounds to mark her second career double-double. Atkinson's 58 steals ranked second in the Landmark Conference throughout majority of the regular season; she followed the conference's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, Goucher's Briana Bull.
