Juniata Edged Out By Green Terror

WESTMINSTER, MD – The Juniata women's basketball team stayed aggressive and held many statistical advantages but the McDaniel Green Terror edged out the Eagles 59-53 to win the McDaniel Tip-Off Tournament Sunday evening. 

Natalie Hager (Franklin, PA / Franklin) was named to the All-Tournament team for her play this weekend. 

Hager totaled 32 rebounds, three steals and two blocks over the weekend. Against the Green Terror, she picked up 16 rebounds, two assists and one steal. 

Rachael Anstine (York, PA / Dallastown) led the offensive effort and racked up 11 points, six of those coming from three-point shots. 

Maria Photiades (Abottstown, PA / Delone Catholic) went 3-for-4 on free throws, recorded three assists, one steal and four rebounds.

As a team, the Eagles finished with a 58.3 free throw percentage. They held a 46-36 advantage over the Green Terror in rebounds and a 20-12 advantage in points in the paint.

Juniata will play their first home match of the season Wednesday against Frostburg State at 7pm.
