Women’s Hoops Falls to 0-2 in Landmark Play

Scranton, Pa., After suffering a loss against the Elizabethtown Blue Jays at home in their Landmark opener on Wednesday, the Juniata College women's basketball team fell to 0-2 in conference play, as the Eagles were defeated by Scranton 82-43 on Saturday. The 6th ranked Royals were the top seed in the conference preseason polls.

 

Freshman Danielle Atkinson (Lancaster, PA / Lancaster Catholic) led the Eagles with 13 points. The guard added three rebounds, a steal, and an assist in the loss. Kelsey Livoti (Altoona, PA / Bishop Guifoyle) scored 10 points, with a steal, two assists, and four rebounds. The Juniata bench provided 15 points.

 

The team shot just 27.9% from the field and committed 19 turnovers. The Royals scored 21 points off of Eagles mistakes.
