HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women's basketball senior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) was named D3Hoops.com Second-Team All-Region, the organization announced Monday.  This is her third consecutive season garnering all-region honors.  McDonald was a D3Hoops.com Preseason All-American in 2012.

"With her sheer numbers I think she is very deserving of the accolades she is receiving gin the postseason," said head coach Danny Young-Uhrich.  "I know that from Kate's vantage point, she would trade this in for a better team record.  But I think to end her career with an all-region selection is pretty cool."

The 5-10 forward has over 1,400 career points and over 1,070 career rebounds.  She is only the third Juniata basketball student-athlete in history to reach the 1,000 mark in both categories.  A CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, McDonald was also named Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the second time in three years.  Her play helped lead the Eagles to their seventh consecutive postseason appearance and earned her her fourth straight all-conference honor.

She started every game of the 2013-14 season, averaging a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds, and recording six 20-point performances.  McDonald ranked nationally in seven different categories including ninth in steals.  She led the league in steals per game, rebounds per game and double-doubles.
