HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women's basketball senior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) garnered her second weekly honor from the Landmark Conference.  The forward was named Player of the Week after helping the Eagles to their seventh consecutive postseason appearance, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

"She played big for us this week," said head coach Danny Young-Uhrich.  "She pushed us through two tough games to get us to the playoffs.  It was definitely led by our two senior leaders.  It's good for her to get that recognition she deserves."

McDonald helped lead the team to a 2-0 week.  She averaged a double-double of 19.5 points and 12 rebounds per game last week, shooting 61-percent from the floor in the 72-69 win over Susquehanna University.

She then went on to play 39 out of 40 minutes in the 51-48 win against Drew that secured the playoff berth. At the conclusion of the regular season McDonald, moved to second on the all-time career leaders list in points, rebounds, and steals.  She and the Eagles will face the University of Scranton on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Landmark semifinals.
