HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women's basketball team is hosting Goucher College on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. for its fourth Landmark Conference contest of the season.  Juniata (7-8, 0-3 Landmark) is currently riding a three-game skid and looking to turn the corner against the Gophers.

The Eagles are 12-0 all-time against Goucher in a rivalry that dates back to the 2007-08 season.  They have outscored the Gophers by an average of 28 points in the team's last four meetings and held them to a season-low 33 points their last trip to Huntingdon.

Juniata has battled tough with opponents this season and the young squad is gaining valuable minutes and experience.  One-third of the games have been decided by five points or fewer.  And as the season presses on and Juniata heads deeper into conference play the stakes will get high.

Seniors Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) and Jordan Hileman (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg), and sophomore Paige Dennison (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) are the only Eagles averaging double-figure points in the Landmark.  Dennison has been making her mark on the free throw line, burying 19-of-of 25 for a .794 average.

Goucher (5-9, 1-3) has lost three of its last four games.  They are being led by Sharnell Huff and Amaka Ezeani.  The pair are the only Gophers averaging double-figure points this season.  Huff, who leads the team in rebounds and steals, has been dropping 14.1 points per game and Ezeani 10.4, respectively.  The Gophers picked up their lone Landmark win against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy 43-42 back on December 7.  Juniata is looking for its first conference win of the season.
