HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women's basketball team hung tough with Moravian College on Saturday afternoon, but the Greyhounds pulled away for the 71-59 win in the Eagles Landmark Conference home opener.  Juniata (5-2, 0-1 Landmark) is now 4-5 against the Greyhounds in the past four seasons. Moravian moved to 6-1, 1-0 in the Landmark with the win.

Junior Kelsey Livoti (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) led with a game-high 19 points shooting .571 from the floor.  Also finishing in double-figures was senior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area).  The forward picked up her sixth double-double of the year with 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

"We really need to practice competitiveness," said head coach Danny Young-Uhrich.  "That's the bottom line.  We lacked that today.  It's not a matter of us scoring more points or us having a bad shooting percentage.  It's us being competitive.  And I think that would have given us a shot today.  Moravian is a very beatable team.  They are a very good team and a very beatable team."

Senior Jordan Hileman (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg) tied the game up at 21-all before Moravian pushed on a 13-5 run to close the half.  Juniata went into the break trailing 37-28.

They came out in the second half hot and got two quick buckets from Dennison to pull within five.  The Eagles would get as close as two points (39-37) after three straight free throws from Livoti.  But the Greyhounds pulled the lead back out to as much as 17 down the stretch to earn the win.

Juniata gets to focus on preparing for its Holiday Tournament next.  The Eagles host DeSales, Muskingum, and St. Vincent December 29-30 in the annual tourney.  Juniata will take on Muskingum on Sunday, Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. following the DeSales and St. Vincent contest.  The consolation game will be Monday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. with the championship game tipping off at 4 p.m.
