Eagles Help Playoff Cause With 62-45 Road Win Over Goucher

TOWSON, Md. – Juniata women's basketball pulled away from Goucher College in the second half to earn the 62-45 road win Wednesday night.  The win helps Juniata (15-6, 6-4 Landmark) in the Landmark Conference playoffs picture as the Eagles now fight for the final position.

Freshman Paige Dennison (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) earned a game and career-high 14 points after making 5-of-9 from the floor. Junior Jordan Hileman (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg) also finished in double-figures with 11 points, respectively.

Juniata was up 27-21 at the break, but couldn't get back into the rhythm early in the second half.  Goucher got within two (32-30) with 15:39 on the clock before the Eagles started to pull away.  They led by as many as 18 with 4:38 left.

Goucher (6-14, 2-8 Landmark) was led by Sharnell Huff.  She finished with 13 points.

Juniata stays on the road and travels with the men's team to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for a double-header.  They defeated the Mariners 69-60 when they last met back on January 19.  The Eagles are undefeated (11-0) against Merchant Marine.
