Eagles Trounce Goucher 71-33, Improve to 12-4 Overall

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's basketball team rode a 25-point halftime lead to its 11th straight win over Landmark Conference rival Goucher College Wednesday night in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center.  Everyone saw playing time as the Eagles (12-4, 3-2 Landmark) cruised to a 71-33 victory, their largest win margin of the season.

Junior Kate McDonald (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa./State College Area) picked up her seventh double-double of the season after posting game-highs of 14 points and 14 rebounds in just 19 minutes on the court.

"Kate hustled," said Head Coach Danny Young-Uhrich.  "She came ready to play and came focused. Our entire team came focused, ready to play, but she was really hustling.  She was sprinting the floor hard and that's her game. It was good to see her have a double-double."

Also hitting double-digits were senior Natalie Glinsky (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) and junior Jordan Hileman (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg).  The pair earned 10 points each, respectively.

The Eagles defense held Goucher to a season-low 11 points in the first half.

"We definitely played solid defense in the first half," added Young-Uhrich.  "Holding any team to 11 points is great.  I think that pretty much stands out more than our first half offense.  We put the clamps on them."

Goucher (5-10, 1-4 Landmark) was led by Taquasia Lambert.  She finished with team-highs of 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Juniata remains at home this Saturday, Jan. 19 in a double-header with the men's team against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA).  The women play at 2 p.m. with the men following at 4 p.m.  The Eagles are undefeated (10-0) against USMMA.
