SCRANTON, Pa.- The Juniata softball team dropped two games at Scranton in their regular-season series finale. The Eagles fell, 3-1 in game one and 13-1 in game two.
Juniata got on the board first in the second with a Maggie Peck (Philipsburg, Pa. / Philipsburg Osceola) home run to left field. The next three innings were scoreless. Scranton scored three runs in the sixth to take game one, 3-1.
The Royals struck first in game two with a two-run homer in the first. Scranton tacked on seven more runs in the second to make it, 9-0. In the third, Alison Superka (Orefield, Pa. / Parkland HS) doubled to left center. Peck singled to center field to bring home Superka. Scranton added four more runs in the fourth inning to make it 13-1, to end the game in five innings.
The Juniata softball team will compete in the Landmark Conference play-in game, this Tuesday. Game time to be determined.
