Eagles Fall in Dickinson Doubleheader

CARLISLE, Pa.- The Juniata softball team fell at Dickinson, 3-1 and 10-2, Tuesday afternoon. 

Game one started out with the Eagles getting on the board early in the top of the first. Jennifer Carthew (New Paris, Pa. / Chestnut-Ridge HS) doubled down the left field line and Molly Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer Central) singled to left field sending Carthew home. Dickinson went on to score three runs in the bottom of the fourth to defeat Juniata, 3-1.

Ulrich went 3-4 with a triple and a RBI.

Game two started with the Red Devils scoring three in the first, one in second, and two in the third. In the top of the fourth, the Eagles got on the board, with Dickinson leading 6-1. Abby Ebright (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East HS) doubled to center and advanced to third on a ground out to first base. Delaney Nevius (Harrisburg,Pa. / CD East High School) singled to the pitcher, sending Ebright home. In the top of the sixth, Juniata scored once more. Carthew singling to left field and Ebright followed with a single of her own to centerfield. Ebright and Carthew then advanced on a passed ball. Ulrich reached first base on an error by the second basewoman, sending Carthew home. Dickinson scored four more in the sixth to end the game at 10-2. 

Ebright went 2-3 with a double and one run scored. 

Juniata will face Penn St.- Altoona in a doubleheader at home on Thursday. Game time is set for 3:00PM.
