Scranton, Pa. -The Juniata softball team was swept at Scranton, 10-2 and 4-1, Sunday afternoon at Magis Field.
Game one started with the Royals scoring three on a base clearing double to right center. The Royals scored one more in the second via an error.
Allie Baney (State College, Pa./State College) smashed a two-run homer in to right center in the top of the fourth to put some runs up for the Eagles.
Scranton struck for three more in the bottom half of the inning and another three in the bottom of the sixth to end game one.
Game two saw Juniata score the first run of the game in the second. Baney was hit by a pitch and Delaney Nevius (Harrisburg, Pa./CD East HS) singled to center. Abby Ebright (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) sent Baney home via at sacrifice bunt.
The Royals scored once in the fourth and three more in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead that they wouldn't relinquish.
The Eagles return to action Tuesday at Dickinson. First pitch is at 5:00.
