Softball Drops Doubleheader to Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, PA- The Juniata softball team traveled to Selinsgrove to play Susquehanna in Landmark Conference play on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles fell by the scores of 9-1 and 3-0. The losses drop Juniata's record to 5-11 overall and 2-2 in the conference. The Crusaders improve to 11-4 and 4-0 in the Landmark.

 

Chrisi Lerchen (Annville, PA/Annville-Cleona) pitched 5.2 innings in the first game and gave up 11 hits, nine runs (six earned), and struck out two. At the plate, Holly Bettinger (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) was 1-for-2 with a double.

 

Bettinger pitched the second game and went six innings, surrendering eight hits and three earned runs. She was 1-for-3 with a double. Paige Dennison (East Berlin, PA/Bermudian Springs) was 2-for-4 in the leadoff spot. Alicia Regnault (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater Raritan), Lindsey Kosicki (Patton, PA/Cambria Heights), and Lerchen all went 1-for-3.

 

The Eagles return to West End Field on Thursday for a non-conference double header with Pitt-Greensburg. The first contest begins at 3 pm with the second game starting around 5 pm.
