HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College softball team dropped its final two games at the Dot Richardson Spring Games Friday afternoon. Juniata (2-8) fell 8-0 to Haverford College and 5-1 to Rowan University. The Eagles
Senior Lydia Gorba (Portage, Pa./Portage) finished .500 on the day. And junior Katie Schroeder (Kempton, Pa./Kutztown) earned the Eagles lone run. Schroeder was also 1-for-1 in stolen bases. Sophomore Aly Smith (Mount Union, Pa./Mount Union) grabbed a team-best three strikeouts in three innings on the mount, giving up just one earned run.
Juniata returns to Huntingdon for its first home double-header of the season on Tuesday, March 18. It will be the Eagles Landmark Conference home opener as Elizabethtown College officially joins the league this spring. Game times are set for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., field conditions permitting.
