All Eagles Set 8K Personal Bests at Mid-Atlantic Regionals

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- All five men's runners finished the 2023 season with new eight-kilometer personal records in the NCAA DIII Mid-Atlantic Regionals at Lock Haven University.  

CJ Coffey posted the best time for Juniata, finishing in 104th place from a field of 212 with a time 27:02.1. Coffey knocked seven seconds off his previous-best 8K time, a 27:09.9 set on the same course in September. Max Scott, Ellis Kline, and Augie Secco claimed 148th, 149th, and 150th, respectively. Scott finished the race in 28:22.2, Kline timed 28:22.2, and Secco logged a 28.31.1. All three set previous bests at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational at Gettysburg, with Scott previously setting a 28:41.5, Kline a 28:49.6, and Secco a 28:59.0. Gavin Robb completed the team score for Juniata, finishing the event in 176th place with a time 29:33.6. His previous best was a 29:40.5 set at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational at Gettysburg in October. 

As seniors for the program, Kline and Scott competed in their final event for Juniata. 

Coffey, Kline, Secco, and Robb will transition to the Juniata track and field team, with the first competition just one month away. Robb will pole vault for Juniata, while the other three will compete in distance events. Juniata begins the indoor track and field campaign on Saturday, December 9th, at Susquehanna University.
