Men's Cross Country Finishes Ninth in 6K Father Bede Invitational

TYRONE, Pa.- The Juniata men's cross country team kicked off the 2023 campaign with a ninth-place showing at the Saint Francis University-hosted Father Bede Invitational, a six-kilometer race, on Friday afternoon. 

They were the third-best school of four Division III competitors in the 6K event, besting Landmark Conference foe Lycoming College. 

Conrad Coffey led the way in his Eagles debut for Juniata, posting a time of 21:59.7 to grab 69th place from a field of 106.  

Max Scott followed with a time of 22:42.9, starting the year only three seconds off his personal best to claim 82nd place. Augie Secco's first race for Juniata ended with him in 84th at 22:58.0. 

Ellis Kline started 2023 with a time of 23:04.9 and an 85th place finish, while freshman Gavin Robb rounded out scoring for Juniata with a time of 23:45.6, good enough for 90th. 

The Juniata men's cross country team returns to competition in a week's time on Friday, September 8th, as they host the Landmark Conference Championship Preview meet, an eight-kilometer race on the Sunset Golf Club course that will play host to Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships in October.
