Todd-Middleditch Promoted to Lead Juniata Cross Country Programs

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Juniata College is pleased to announce that Stu Todd-Middleditch has been promoted to Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach following a national search. Todd-Middleditch will also act as an assistant coach for Juniata's Track and Field teams in this role.

"We are excited to welcome Stu as our next Head Cross Country Coach here at Juniata," said Director of Athletics Nikki Ayers. "Stu joined us this past January and made an immediate impact on our programs. He works hard and I am excited to see where he can take our programs."

Todd-Middleditch takes over after serving as the Interim Head Coach for Cross Country and Track and Field at Juniata since July. Before that, he spent half a year as an assistant coach for Juniata's track and field team. This spring, both of Juniata's track and field teams had year-on-year points increases at the Landmark Conference Track and Field Outdoor Championships, while each program won an event. Barrett Walters won the Men's Javelin Throw, and Olivia Barbacci claimed the Conference's Rookie of the Year Award following her victory in the women's pole vault.

"I am extremely excited to get started as the Head Men's and Women's Cross country coach. Juniata College is a unique and beautiful campus located in a prime spot for distance training," said Todd-Middleditch. "I would like to thank Nikki Ayers for offering me this opportunity to build a program from the ground up and create something truly special here at Juniata. I would also like to thank the coaching staff at North Central College and Barrington High School for giving me the tools and opportunity to run on and coach an elite level team. I am truly blessed to have received this opportunity, and I am ready to make an impact on both the college, community and Division III as a whole."

Before Juniata, Todd-Middleditch spent the last three years as an assistant coach for the cross country and track and field programs at Barrington High School in Illinois since 2020, including a stint as the program's interim head coach during the summer of 2022. During his time working with Barrington's cross country team, the team finished in the top 15 at three state meets, finishing as high as 5th in 2020.

Todd-Middleditch earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Management from North Central College in May of 2021 and was a four-year member of the cross country and track and field teams. As a member of the cross country team at North Central, he placed on the CCIW All-Conference Second Team in 2018 and 2019.

A national search for the Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Track and Field teams is ongoing.
