Eagles Place 18th at NCAA Regionals

Center Valley, Pa. - Juniata's 2016 season comes to a close as the Eagles placed 18th in out of 52 schools at the NCAA Division III Regional 8K, hosted by DeSales University on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Nicholas Simpson (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) was the first to finish for Juniata and finished 36th overall. Simpson topped the personal best he set at the 2016 Landmark Conference Championships (26:16.2) with his time of 25:58.

Conor Dimond (Summerhill, Pa./Forest Hills) crossed the line only a half a minute later than Simpson at 26:29 and finished 56th out of the 351 runners.

Freshmen Desmond O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy), Peter D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) and Evan Ulrich (Homer, N.Y./Homer Senior High) were the next three Eagles to finish the race, all within the same minute. They recorded times of 27:13, 27:34 and 27:42, respectively.

Senior Ryan Bogdan (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) and sophomore Andrew Meci (Woodstock, N.Y./Onteora) rounded out Juniata's participants when they crossed at 28:06 and 28:55.

John Hopkins and Haverford placed first and second, qualifying them for NCAA Nationals.
