Men's XC Places Fifth at Gettysburg Invitational

Gettysburg, Pa. - Juniata placed fifth out of 26 schools at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15. Conor Dimond led the Eagles with his top-ten performance.

Dimond (Summerhill, Pa./Forest Hills) crossed the finish line ninth out of the 267 runners. He recorded a time of 26:19, nine seconds behind his previous personal best that was set in Juniata's last outing.

Nicholas Simpson (Silver Spring, Md./Albert Einstein) was next for Juniata, finishing about 30 seconds later than Dimond, with a time of 26:51.4. His time put him in 25th place overall.

The rest of the Eagles' top five finishes were Desmond O'Donovan (27:27.2), Peter D'Amico (27:41.1) and Evan MacMullin (27:41.7). O'Donovan (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) placed 47th, while D'Amico (Hummelstown, Pa./Hersey) and MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass./St. John's Prep) finished 55th and 57th, respectively. MacMullin crossed the finish line at the same time as a Roanoke runner.

The Landmark Championships are next on the schedule for Juniata. On Saturday, Oct. 29, the Eagles will compete against all of the conference's men's cross country team.
