Cross Country Competes at Landmark Championships

Towson, MD, The Juniata College men's and women's cross country team competed in the Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday. Both teams placed fifth overall in their respective races. The Elizabethtown Blue Jays swept the event en route to their first two Landmark Conference championships.

The men the men finished just shy of the top five at 6th. Stephen Park (State College, Pa. / State College) was the top runner for the men, placing 13th overall with a time of 27:57.4. Ryan Bogdan (Buffalo, NY / Canisius) and Conor Dimond (Summerhill, PA / Forest Hill) finished the race 19th and 20th respectively. Kevin Schofield (Madison, CT / Daniel Hand) finished the race at 29:05.9 to place 36th. Ben Martin (New Holland, PA / Garden Spot) finished 43rd and Trevor Stephens (Bethesda, MD / Bethesda Chevy-Chase) finished seven spots behind him.

Allyson Kopera (Hastings, PA / Northern Cambria) was the top finisher for the women, completing the race in 23:58.0 to claim the 12th overall spot. Courtney Peterson (York, PA / York)  ran the race in 25:16.6 seconds to 28th. Haley Schneider (West Chester PA / Bishop Shanahan) and Vanessa Hurst (Ephrata Pa. / Ephrata) finished 31st and 37th overall, while Jecenia Duran placed 48th.
