Towson, Md., Allyson Kopera (Hastings, Pa./Northern Cambria) ran a 25:02.00 time to place first overall at the Goucher Classic on Saturday. Kopera has been the top runner for the women's cross country team this fall. Three Eagles finished in the top 10 of the women's race. Hayley Schneider (West Chester, Pa. / Bishop Shanahan) placed 9th with a time of 26:38.70. Courtney Peterson (York, Pa./Central York) trailed her at 26:40.40 to place 10th. The women finished third overall.
Kevin Schofield (Madison, CT / Daniel
Hand) placed highest for the men, coming in
18th with a time of 30:19.65. The Eagles had two other
runners place in the top 25. Ryan Bogdan
(Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) came in at 20 with a time of
30:22.95. Stephen Park
(State College, PA/State College) ran a 30:25.83 time to
place 21st. Just missing the top 25, was Trevor
Stephens (Bethesda, Md. / Bethesda-Chevy Chase) at 26
with a time of 30:32.35. The Men came in 4th behind Navy
Plebes, Merchant Marine, and Moravian.
The team will return to action next Saturday as they
compete at the Gettysburg Invitational.
