GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Juniata College men's and women's cross country teams were led by the efforts of sophomore Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa. / Parkland) and senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) at the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday afternoon. The men finished sixth and the women placed 17th.
Woods finished the 6K race in a time of 22:46.8 to capture a third place finish and Guetzlaff crossed 16th in the men's 8K race in 26:39.5.
On the men's side, freshman Xavier Cachon (Bala Cynwyd, Pa. / Lower Merion), freshman Nick Simpson (Silver Spring, Md. / Albert Einstein), and junior Nick Trapane (Thumont, Md. / Catoctin) finished 42nd, 44th, and 47th respectively.
Juniata heads into a break before competing at the Landmark Conference Championships on Nov. 2 at Catholic University.
