BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Juniata College men's cross country team was able to complete the 8K at the Paul Short Invite Saturday before hot weather conditions forced the competition to be cut short for the safety of the student-athletes with only a few race groups getting through the course.

"Our men's team ran well," said head coach Jon Cutright.  "I was happy with how our guys raced.  It was very hot, but it was good."

Juniata's top three finishers in the open division crossed just 49 seconds apart.  All of the Eagles in the open finished within 3:21 of each other.  The smallest gap was between freshman Conor Dimond (Summerhill, Pa./Forest Hills) and sophomore Jacob Krott (Temple, Pa./Muhlenburg).  Dimond finished the course in 28:34, 16 seconds off his fastest this season.  Krott was just seven seconds behind him at 28:41.  The time was third fastest of his career at the distance.

The event was halted before the women's team could compete.  Juniata has a bye next week and returns to action at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15.
