SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Juniata College cross country teams traveled to the Slippery Rock Invitational in Slippery Rock, Pa. The top runner for the men finished in 16^th place while the top runner for the women finished in 31^st. 

In the men's 8k event, Ceth Parker (Sabillasville, Md./Catoctin) finished in 16^th place with a time of 26:13.7. Freshman Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) trailed Parker with a time of 27:20.7 in 50^th place. Nik Klena (Franklin, Pa. / Oil City) also ran for the Eagles, finishing in 70^th place with a time of 27:41.1. Senior Steve Schmitt came in 75^th place with a time of 27:54.2, and junior Jonathan Pfadenhauer (Old Westbury, N.Y. / The Wheatley School) came in 101^st place, clocking in at 28:29.7 

Overall, the men ranked 11^th out of 14 teams in the invitational with a total time of 2:17:39.40 and an average time of 27.31.88. 

The women ran a 5k event with a newcomer, Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa. / Mount Union) setting the pace for the Eagles at 19:41.7 and placing 31^st.  Jessica Koenig (Milford, Pa. / Delaware Valley) followed Woods in 61^st place out of 238 runners and a time of 20:17.6. Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) clocked in at 20:31:1 and placed 77^th. In the same minute, Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township) came in 82^nd place. Anna Wakabayashi clocked in at 22:05.1 and placed 151^st in her event while senior, Elizabeth Linde (Kirkwood, Pa. / Solanco) came in 190^th and recorded a time of 22:59.1.

The women ranked 11^th out of 15 teams in the invitational with a total time of 1:42:35.30 and an average time of 20:31.06.

Juniata competes at the Goucher College in Baltimore, Md. next Saturday, Oct. 9.
