NEWARK, NJ- The #11 Juniata men's volleyball team doubled their CVC conference wins on the weekend with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-18) at Rutgers-Newark, Saturday afternoon. 

In the opener, the Eagles jumped out to an 11-4 lead led by three kills from Juan Armando. Juniata hit .400 on their way to a 25-17 set-one victory. 

Set two saw Juniata spend most of the set digging themselves out of a hole, as they eventually tied things on service error at 17-17. Two kills from Armando and two aces from Goldsborough, along with several errors by the hosts, saw the Eagles close on an 8-1 run to take set two, 25-18.  

Set three saw Juniata again take control late. With the score at 17-15, scoring eight of the final 11 points as JC took the match on a service error, 25-18. 

Armando had a match-high 12 kills to go with five digs and a block assist. Tyler Goldsborough added 11 kills, two aces, and three digs, while Luke Hoffman contributed seven kills (.636), two digs, two solo blocks, and three block assists. Reese Ganter tallied 30 assists, two aces, a kill, three digs, and two block assists. 

Next Saturday, Juniata returns to action against Baldwin Wallace at 1:00 and Hiram at 3:00.
