HUNTINGDON, Pa.- On Friday, the Continental Volleyball Conference announced its All-Academic Team for 2017. Representing Juniata are Sean Cavanagh (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley), Zach Guiciardi (Creighton, Pa./Deer Lakes), David Hibner (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock Secondary), Morgan Pierce (Carpinteria, Calif./Cate School), Matt Schaeffer (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern), and Michael Young (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake Village).
This is the third selection for Guiciardi, a senior who graduated from Juniata in May with a Bachelor of Science degree. Cavanagh's POE is Business Economics, Hibner's is Business, Pierce's is Math and Business, Schaeffer's is Finance, and Young's is Physics.
In order to be considered for All-Academic honors, the player must hold at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average. The 50 student-athletes selected overall is the second-most in conference history.
