Four Eagles Named to CVC All-Academic Team

LEXINGTON, KY. – Four members of the Juniata College men's volleyball team were selected to the Continental Volleyball Conference's 2016 All-Academic Team on Monday. Chad Albert (Cranberry Township, Pa/Seneca Valley), Zach Guiciardi (Creighton, Pa./Deer Lakes), Ryan Shelton (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville), Avery Spiess (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) are representing Juniata on this year's squad.

It was the third selection for Shelton, a senior who graduated with a degree in accounting last month. Albert also graduated with a degree in accounting while Spiess is a junior with a POE in psychology and a secondary emphasis in human resource management. Both players are second time honorees as is junior Guiciardi, who earned All-Academic honors as a freshman at Eastern Mennonite. His POE is mathematics and integrated media arts.

In order to be considered for All-Academic honors, the player must hold at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average. A total of 32 student-athletes were named to the team this year.
