Albert Named to CVC All-Conference Team

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) announced its All-Conference Team on Thursday. Senior middle blocker Chad Albert (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) was the lone Juniata representative. This is his first All-Conference Award.

 

Albert played in 21 matches and 76 sets in 2016 for the Eagles. He participated in all but one CVC match. Albert led Juniata with a .381 hitting percentage this season, ranking 8th during conference play. He finished with 92 kills and 34 total blocks during CVC play and ranked seventh in service aces with 12. He had a season-best .727 hitting percentage in the Eagles 3-0 playoff-clinching victory over Cairn last Saturday. He had a season-high 19 kills the night before in a 3-2 defeat against Rutgers-Newark. Albert also recorded at least one block in every match he played in this year.

 

Albert is a two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association Second Team All-American. He has over 300 career sets played, 572 kills, 318 total blocks and a hitting percentage of .410.

 

The Eagles will play Stevenson in the semifinals of the CVC Tournament this Friday. Match time is at 6 p.m.
